The next day I was called and offered a $14/hr temp-to-hire position and immediately accepted. Upon returning when I was called a second time I was told about a limited 2 day job that paid $10/he which I had said I would consider. I selected a few and was told I would hear back. The “interview” consisted of a staffing specialist looking in a binder and asking me if I wanted to be put in for a few positions. Went in for an “interview” after being called and asked to come down. They might be nice to you at first, but I promised they will screw you sooner or later. So whatever you do, don’t waste your time. The management is self indulgent and really does not care about the employees. Anyway, I called the employer and let them know what had happened, they are setting something up outside of manpower and let me know they have had a lot of problems and are very unlikely to work with them after their contract is up. Internally, Manpower is a horrible place to work for. I told her nicely I was no longer interested in manpower. I told them nicely that calling them was not my top priority at that moment and the person told me I was not her top priority, but if I can send proof of what happened I could still work for them, but the position I applied for was no longer available to me. They told me it wasn’t their problem and they already let the employer know I was a no call no show even though I called at the time of my interview (they called the employer before I was late to tell them I was a no call no show). I called them at the exact time my interview was held and informed them of what had happened. They called me about 3 minutes before my interview asking me where I was.
